How To Import Chat History From WhatsApp To Telegram

If you are thinking of leaving WhatsApp and joining Telegram? Isn’t awesome if you can take with you all your conversation and media?
Ok, individual WhatsApp chats can be imported directly into Telegram!
Since the backup and repair function of WhatsApp is pretty limited. Without a third-party tool, it does not even work between Android and iPhone. However, Telegram has an Import function which allows conversations to be transferred per chat from other messenger apps including WhatsApp, Line, and KaKaoTalk. It sounds awkward, but it does the work. We will concentrate on WhatsApp in this guide.
The updates will surface for all parties until the chat is imported. The messages that are imported are attached to the base of the chat, but the original timestamp is included.
You just need to export the chat and import it into Telegram from WhatsApp. This is how Android and iPhone function.
Procedure (For Android):
Open WhatsApp and select the chat you want to import.
On the top-right corner, click the three dots.
- Select More.
- Select Export Chat.
If you want to simply export chat, then click Without media otherwise select “With Media”.
- Then select “Telegram”.
Here you will be able to see the conversation, choose where you want to import.
- Then select “Import”
and hola your importing started π
Press “DONE” when the import finishes with WhatsApp timestamps.
Procedure (For iPhone):
For iPhone, the method is a little different, here open WhatsApp and go to the chat you want to export
Click the profile name at the top of your screen.
- Tap on the “Export Chat” option.
Here also, iPhone will ask you to export with media or without.
- After choosing, your desired option choose to share via “Telegram”.
Go to that person’s chat and import the whole chat. And you are done here as well with WhatsApp timestamps π
